harder than i thought

Taking care of fish is harder than I thought.

Three have died so far. One Black Moor, One Calico and the smallest Rosy Red. The thing is that, it hasn’t been a week. I can remember when I was a kid, we never had problems raising aquarium fish. no chemicals, no nothin … we even feed out fish with pollard … the stuff pigs are supposed to eat. One sack of those would last their lifetime and their kids lifetime as well.

No, I’m not really sad. Just wondering what I did wrong they all seemed so happy. Oh well, It’ll be months before I make that trip to add more fish. They say Goldfish are hard to take care of because they poop a lot. They clogged my filtration system in a matter of 5 days. What in the world? One filter is supposed to last 3-4 weeks. oh well life goes on.

I’m thinking of getting Cichlids next time around. When that time comes, bye-bye Goldfish.

happy birthday lola!

OK, here’s the new stuff around here. If you haven’t noticed yet, I’ve added category icons thanks to the genius of Mr. John Addis, Thank You Sir. With this enhancement, you can now see literally who posted the blog (done via categories.)

Regarding some other stuff, I’m stuck here while everyone else is attending a wedding. I miss you mahal.

Oh well, life goes on.

Palm Tungsten T2

July 25th, 2003 | Perze Ababa | No Comments

It’s finally here, the much awaited “next-generation upgrade for the Tungsten T. Piced at $399.95, The T2 has much more to offer as compared to the first version. It boasts an extra 16MB base memory, thus giving it a total built in memory of 32MB, more than enough to load all the extras and the basic software that I use and need. It also has a much much better 320 x 320 transreflective screen which can handle over 65535 colors. To be honest, you have better images with the T2 as compared to the T and the colors are so much vibrant. For the extra 50 bucks, these improvements are a steal.

Of course you have the standard features such as bluetooth compatibility, slider technology, the 5 way navigation button, a bunch of extra software and the screen cover.

For a case, I suggest you buy the innopocket T2 Hard Case costs less than the Palm Hard case and gives better protection. If you are getting the case I also suggest buying the mini-sync charger/cable from boxwave, they both fit perfectly. Last but not the least, I should mention that of all the screen protectors that I’ve tried, nothing beats the cleartouch protector from boxwave.com, it’s very easy to install, it’s washable and you can use it over and over again (it’s washable *duh*).

Yesterday, traded my Tungsten T with the T2, and so far, I’m very happy!

tiny bubbles

When I was a kid, I used to have a backyard pond … it’s not really a pond but it’s an aquarium of some sort. I had Golden Snails, Red and Green Swordtails, Rainbow Guppies and Regular Guppies, Mollies, etc. I probably had it for two years. I can remember that at that time, it was the fad in our place. Actually Bernard who encouraged me to get one, I probably even got some fish from his tank. THey’re all gone now, because there was this one time when my brother, Benex, poured shampoo on the aquarium because he wanted to see the fish take a bath … sadly all of them died.

That was kinda traumatic for me. I never attempted to take care of anything, well I did have a dog named tiger, but that was it. Two weeks ago, I helped out some friends in moving to a different apartment and I salvaged a 10 gallon aquarium tank. Nevertheless, they gave it to me. Two days ago, I decided to buy some fish, and other fish stuff. Through the advice of marchesa, I got 2 Black Moors, 2 Calicos, 2 Bala Sharks and a bunch or Rosy Reds. I spent a lot for all the gadgets, you know, filters, chemicals, aerator, etc. Good thing Henry gave me three ornaments that I can put inside the tank and fake plants ;-). Thanks Dok.

I shall post pictures when I can. That’s what’s up with me these days. I loved my little fishies.

nervous

despite having PreBASIC, and all those late meetings, and all the phone calls to follow up, i’ve been so nervous every time i log onto the BASIC site…we have a counter that has a number diminish everyday until that day- AUGUST 16.

i guess anyone who plans an event gets this way. you always want it to go a certain route, and always expect success, and usually, I have a burden to set events up…like parties, celebrations, meetings, events, projects…i realize that i’ve been given this gift in my personality and i really can’t deny it, or stop it…thoughts pour even in the shower.

i’m just glad i have a team to work with for BASIC. without them, my vision dies. with them we’ve made it our vision. their sweat equals mine, and my troubles are passed on to them…and i love the homeostatic flow of our responsibilities…of course sometimes we get discouraged and a little backed up on our follow through, but all in all, i praise God for their dedication.

and i’m glad that i learned this years ago through experience- that no matter how much you plan, God can manage to change it all for His glory, for a better view of that day. That’s why Paul says in Philippians 3:1-11, that we cannot have confidence in the flesh although we feel we have the right to boast. No, our assurance is in God alone…so that’s my safety…knowing that i cannot exactly know what will happen in BASIC, although i know the formalities and what to expect in the program. God still has something, lots of things hidden for us to find on August 16, and it will not be on our basiC site, our notepads, rogie’s “PDA”, or computers…and that’s what i look forward to. that’s also something i am scared of, but something i look forward to.

continue to pray for us. and please join us on that day.

yesterday was such a disaster. I wanted to move from one Control Panel to another and our webhost didn’t even tell me that all my data would be lost. Oh well, I should’ve known better. Good thing they didn’t blow away the mySQL databases. There was such a relief when I realized that it was still there.

I basically was able to rebuild everything in an hour. *bam* God is really GOOD!

The name servers have have been resolved to the new host. For some reason phpbb is failing on me … I might need to re-install the forum. That’ll be no problem. I’ll work on that over lunch time.

*sigh* Work is always in the way. he he he :-)

I can’t believe how stupid I can be. I should’ve known better than to perform incremental back-ups of the website before asking such major changes. Well, that’s going to change in the future because scheduled full back-ups are my thing now.

I still hate the idea of losing everything that I worked so hard for in the past few days. *aaaaaargh* I want to scream!
