immigration status

August 22nd, 2007 | Marchesa Ababa | No Comments

we just want to praise God for allowing perze’s immigration status to remain as an immigrant in the US.  he received his greencard this month which also means we can start planning for our first trip to the phils. as a family this october.  it’s very overdue, but we’ve patiently endured the distance. God is faithful in his promises. it’s something was just a dream when we first talked about starting a relationship so now that it’s here, it’s such a joyful feeling.

next year, perze can apply for citizenship- the next step.

best man and bridesmaid

so we have the honor of being the best man and bridesmaid for our close friends rog & leila, as they become mr.&mrs. rabanillo next year on july 2008.

our love stories are pretty much intertwined since i’ve always considered rogie as a brother. we were friends first around 2001.  we became pretty close around 2002, when i met perze.  then perze brought leila who i befriended. then rog ended up courting her a little before perze started courting me. rog and i would always confide in each other during these times, and as the years passed, from the dating stages to their engagement, we’ve always kept close.  i’m really proud of how far they’ve come. so it’s only an honor to stand by my “adopted” brother and my friend.  so next year, the ababa family, along with my parents, and samsam, will be in the wedding party.

their engagement: two thousand seven, may 22
                                 lei’s mom’s death anniversary

their wedding: two thousand eight, july 12
south jersey bible church int. (where they met)
                               theme: papaya

Sense and Sensibility Sense and Sensibility 4.0 Stars 4/5 stars

this is one of those movies that just gets better every time you watch it, preferrably every stage of your life. emma thompson’s ability really shines in this movie, although she hardly gets great roles these days. and hugh grant! this is the firs…(read more)t movie i saw him in, and absolutely and immediately crushed on him- until he became the leading man in every english film…

and who knew slitherin was romantic in this movie?- matched with kate winslet?

man. i’m a touch romantic…i admit…but it’s a movie like this that can make me swoon.

High School Musical 2

High School Musical 2: Sing It All or Nothing! High School Musical 2: Sing It All or Nothing!

i’ve heard that this was this generation’s Grease. but i’m starting to believe that an 8 year old made that review on Teen Beat. I had to watch this because of all the hype of the youth group, and the kids of my church. Plus i promised an 8 year ol…(read more)d that i’d watch it.

the music- eh…the plot- don’t get me started…i just felt like nothing went together…like eating boat loads of candy and getting one enormous sugar high, then feeling so used and empty after 2 hours.

people will hate me…mostly highschoolers and middleschoolers, but oh well….sorry guys!

The Fountain

The Fountain The Fountain 3.5 Stars 3.5/5 stars

aesthetically, it was a beautiful movie, with some very thought provoking effects, as well as tender symbolic simple scenes. for those who don’t like to read movies and think about what they’re seeing, then this is a movie to pass when you’re stroll…(read more)ing blockbuster. but if you’re the type to notice the tones, lights, symbols in a movie, then this is a worthy challenge.

the story itself was a little hard to catch as well, initially. but once you understand what’s going on, you’re pretty much sucked in by hugh jackman’s brilliant vulnerability (and wowzers physiognomy).

as far as the movie’s themes of love, immortality, and death, the conclusion can be a little complex and can really be open for interpretation, but i guess for me, sometimes, one attains immortality through death.

it was a pretty movie. and kinda sad.

you can tell that she’s always alternating between circles and lines…they become circle scribbles and line scribbles- in every color too!  every night, it’s become a routine that she’s set that we, as a family, color her backyardigans coloring book.  if we don’t, she gets very upset.  i’m glad she made it a family thing. see how we’re always putting the alphabet so she can get familiarized? ahhah

i bought a notebook where we can learn her ABC’s and shapes and things.  today, we practiced her drawing.  this was supposed to be all circles page, but she ended up drawing lines on the side.  so this became her circles and lines page- the two things she’s mastered drawing.

every time she draws circles like that, it reminds me of The Ring…haha
