emma’s vocabulary
i guess every mom says it about their daughters, but i honestly think my daughter’s beautiful. her hair is wavy, so it’s very different from many filipino babies whose hair is typically straight. she’s also a little taller than babies her age.
anyways, lately, she’s learned many words in just a few days, which supports all the articles i’ve read of 2 year olds really exponentially expanding their vocabulary in sporadic bouts.
in just 3 days, she’s learned: heart, pig, gerry (her crush), sippy (for her sippy cup)
and i love when she scaffolds by grouping existing vocabulary and forming new ideas. like, once she learned sippy, she said, “silly sippy, i love you sippy!” crazy huh? she’s very particular w/ specifying her sippy cup because i usually use normal toddler cups during the day so she’s accustomed to using them instead of being dependent on sippy cups. so she’s very happy to have learned “sippy” as to better request what type of cup she prefers.
it sounds a little mundane, but if you have babies, their development is really quite amazing!
Steve Madden Victorian Boots
look at the exceptional find i won on ebay. yes. i’m a boots fiend. but unlike the general population, i don’t pay over $50 (unless they’re the ever unreachable tara’s that i want this season). they look vintage (victorian oxfords) but they’re actually a recent Steve Madden style, dark caramel, laced up but with a surprising side hidden zipper! cute idea huh? practical, innovative, classic. they’re sporting that victorian vibe that i’ve always loved, so it’s very romantic corset style.

Happy Thanksgiving!
we celebrated this year’s thanksgiving at South Jersey with Marchesa’s whole family, including the Ng’s.
as a Fabila tradition, we order Lobsters from Maine instead of the typical turkey. then we have tons of side dishes and desserts, so we cook the whole day and eat leftovers the rest of the weekend. but it’s always a great time to spend w/ each other, esp. now that the two toddlers are getting older and enjoy playing together now.
there’s a lot to be thankful for, so we extend our greetings and thanks for our loved ones- of course to Perze’s family who we miss, and our friends who are scattered all throughout…we appreciate all of you who enter our lives and make kalat to show us your presence!

her speech keeps improving faster
just these few days, emma learned quite a few words:
1. heart
2. kanin (rice)
3. pig (cuz she used to say oink oink)
4. ate tj

these are from The Unemployed Philosopher’s Guild, an online store that i can appreciate. these dolls are probably my favorite items because i would want all those dolls at the side to become part of my collection, on a shelf, next to books.
they’re also a great learning tool for the kids since they’re all famous and influential in their respective arenas. imagine, while other kids are neglecting their mundane teddy bear to sleep, emma can be hugging jane austen while recounting some of her stories.
this is even much better than the huggable stds at GiantMicrobes.
