say "cheese!"

January 31st, 2008 | Marchesa Ababa | No Comments

when em was in the ER, she had to get X-rays to make sure she didn’t have pneumonia.  when we were in the x-ray room, she was a little hesitant and somewhat scared, so we all told her that she was gonna get her pictures taken.

subsequently, she looked at the x-ray machine as she sat on their bullseye seat and said, "cheese."

twelvesixteen tweaking…

January 31st, 2008 | Marchesa Ababa | 2 Comments

this twelvesixteen.net is becoming very pretty. i actually like coming to the site to blog.  it was only a couple months ago that the site was one gigantic one paged blog, but now that perze incorporated the blog into our newly built webpage, it’s complete. I like the different categories, the different blog sites within one webpage.  Yesterday, to make the main twelvesixteen blog more ocularly palatable, i added entry borders to match the cherry blossom theme. you like?

but as much as the site looks nice w/ my designs, it really can’t be all that it is without perze’s adapting knowledge of css- the backbone of our page- the outline.  my colors and pictures are just the skin and clothes, to give color to what perze shapes.  He’s added gadgets here and there- review stars and the random pictures, the modules, sharing functions, # blog entries, and dimensions.  i’m just the one who fills the pages…hahahahaha…i really have a lot to say.  this webpage really is an example of our partnership- the two sides of the brain in one project…and here and there, we step over the boundary and interchange jobs- trying to learn and tweak (me w/ the css and perze w/ design).

also, one more person that we want to acknowledge and thank- my sister steph!  she’s really helped us incorporate our twelvesixteen gallery, to now match our general theme.

Fun Fact:
perze and i met through an online blogger, when it was still new- xanga.com
i think that’s why we continue to support that site as well as continue our webpage blog.

Cherry Blossom Branch Lights

how fitting that I’d love this…can you tell i love cherry blossoms (hence the twelvesixteen cherry blossom theme)?  I would totally love to receive five branches of these cherry blossoms lights as a present.  It comes in white or pink, but since i love pink, i’d prefer them.  Plus, white would look too much like christmas lights.  The pink ones look more like flowers from a distance, and would cast more color in a dim room.

one branch holds 35 decorative flower lights and functions like a light, powered by an outlet.

what do you think?

i think i already know which one i’m leaning towards already…

Em Sang "MORE"

January 30th, 2008 | Marchesa Ababa | No Comments

today. out of the blue, emma started singing "More" by Matthew West.

perze first taught it to her, and ever since, it’s number 1 on emma’s top bedtime hits.  but today, i heard her sing it:

"i love you more than the sun, and the stars, that i taught how to shine, you are mine, and you shine for me too. I love you, yesterday, and today, and tomorrow we’ll say it again, and again, I love you more."

when emma was really sick, this song was playing in the background and although I knew it was God’s song to us, I couldn’t help but apply it to my daughter.  And the immense love i felt for her made me realize how much God loves us and cherishes us…how concerned he is of us- esp. when we are not all together, when we are falling apart- how he sings with such passion- "…and i love you more that you can imagine, more than you can fathom. I LOVE YOU MORE THAN THE SUN AND YOU SHINE FOR ME."

and it really reminds me in such a tangible way with my daughter, that just as I love her, not because of what she does, but because of who she is- because she is mine, God loves us the same way- not of our merit, but because of who we are.  we shine not because of what we do, but because of who we are in him- because we are His…

Bica Cheia Yellow Leather/Suede Shoulder to Shoulder Bag

anthmustard01 anthmustard03 G O R G E O U S …

and right in time for spring!  who carries around a bright yellow bag? um…present!  ya, you hardly see anyone carry yellow, but this bag is candy.  it stands out in a crowd (i know); i’ve gotten tons of looks.

what i love about this bag is that it’s not too huge, but has so many pockets- for my makeup, clutch, cell, camera, and then some…

what i love about this bag is that it uses two textures- the lacquered patent leather and the suede. you’ll be able to spot it out by one look.

anthmustard04 and do you know how i knew this bag was definitely for me- the owl fabric lining inside.  for those who know me well- i’m a sucker for owls (even before they became trend).

Erin Fetherston Antique White Chiffon/Velvet Dress

January 30th, 2008 | Marchesa Ababa | No Comments

believe me, this dress looks exponentially better in person than in this picture. It’s almost alice in wonderland, romantic, with great movement, without too much flimsiness because of the thin undergarment underneath the chiffon.  if you know any of erin fetherston’s couture designs, this portrays it well.

the bib look is very in these days, so victorian and romantic, juxtaposed to the ivory color and velvet trimming just wants you to wear it as is, or really do it justice and buy a velvet red blazer and brown riding boots.  this model didn’t do this dress justice…so let me preach a little and sport the round toed caramel boots.

the price is a little steep, but if you’re lucky, you can always wait for it to go on sale.
