2.5 months left!

15 lbs. Yep. I’ve gained 15 lbs. since August. And for those that are way out of the loop, yes, I’m pregnant. hahah.

Cravings 3rd trimester:

  • Aunt Annie’s Almond pretzels w/ caramel dip
  • coffee ice cream…ok…ice cream in gen.
  • soda
  • pastries, cakes (mainly ensaymada and Godiva Cheesecake)
  • Starbucks chocolate chip cookies
  • chicken ceasar salad
  • strawberries, clementines, cold grapes
  • chocolate (mainly lindtz, truffles, symphony bars)
  • fruit roll ups (hahahahaha, I don’t know why)

I have 2.5 months left and so far:

Pros:

  • no waddling
  • my thighs don’t kiss each other while walking
  • I can still see my feet
  • no cankles
  • I can still take my rings on and off (this used to bug me last time)
  • No headaches (like my last pregnancy)
  • No heartburn (like my last pregnancy)

Cons:

  • Back hurts at night
  • Need to sit down and rest every time I’m on my feet for a long time
  • ALWAYS want to drink cold beverages; always thirsty
  • difficulty sleeping
  • full bladder, kicking baby toy
  • can’t lift, push, pull anymore
  • no rough housing with Emma

We’re all really excited for Baby Z…esp. Ate Emma.  She really is so affectionate with this baby.  I can’t believe how fast this pregnancy has passed. And it’s true, somehow, this pregnancy is much easier than my first one.

When I’m Sleeping

February 26, 2009 · Written By Marchesa Ababa  · View Comments

Sometimes in the middle of the day, after cleaning, I fall into a nap in my room while Em’s in her room.  Sometimes, my nap is so heavy that I wake up to find myself tucked in with a throw blanket.

Then sometimes, I can feel the bed move because a little toddler is making her way up to look at my face. I pretend sleep to see what she’s going to do because little does she know that her ninja mom is a light sleeper.  She usually kisses me then leaves the bed to go back to her room again.

One time, I went green and recycled my mom’s old tricks and asked Em to find all the gray hair in my head while I take a short nap.  She look through my hair and say, “I found one…” then proceed to brush my hair and make me look pretty for her dad.

Berry Bauble Earmuffs

A cluster of winter fruit, dangling before kooky orb-like muffs, warms frosty lobes. Acrylic, wool, polyester, angora.

I love knitted accessories…and hopefully one day will pick it up, but for now, these are so adorable.  If you know me, I’m very into quirky fashion sometimes, and accessories are just as important statements.  Originally, these were $38 and I’ve waited for them for the final sale which brought them down to $9.  I quickly bought them because I knew they’d be sold out, which they eventually were.

When they arrived, I was so excited; I put them on and they were perfect…not a subtle accessory at all, but that’s what I like about them…they’re almost anime-ish.  Complete thumbs up- way up and a little jig-of-a-dance.

"Jesus told me Something!"

February 24, 2009 · Written By Marchesa Ababa  · View Comments

“Mamam, Jesus told me something!”  she retorted from the living room as I was into my first hour shredding paper.

Prior to her almost somber toned revelation, I heard her from the other room, in between the shredding, just almost talking to herself, but not.  I figured she was complaining, which she tends to do when she doesn’t get her way.

Let me start from the beginning.

I’m really busy these days preparing for the new baby, making sure we make some more storage room for all Baby Z’s stuff, so to free up some space, I got rid of papers upon papers that were stored in so many boxes and shelves.  Shredding for almost an hour, Zem comes up to me and gives me something she drew.  I requested, like most slick mothers, that she would make me happy if she wrote out her letters all the way to F by herself.  So she did, with the exception of a very mangled “D” so I asked her to write it again.

She went to the living room and that’s when the drama started and I heard her talking to herself.  I let her carry on with it for a while since I was in a paper zone.  Then that’s when she said, “Mamam, Jesus told me something.”  So out of curiosity, I went to her and she started crying.  I asked her what Jesus told her and she said, “He said ok.”

Confused, I refined my questions and asked her what she was doing and she explained that she was praying to Jesus, sad that I had asked her to do something that she felt she couldn’t do (write a D).  So in her sadness, she asked Jesus, “can you get Mamam so she can say sorry?”  And she said Jesus told her, “OK, I’ll get her.”

I was in awe with her faithful heart…granted, yes, she’s a very emotionally charged 3 year old, but on her own, she remembered to go to Jesus when she couldn’t come to me.  I’m so grateful that she’s growing, in such a young age, in the knowledge of Jesus’ love for her.

I love you Emmanuelle

(Later, I found out that she thought I said “G” not “D”…so I understood why she cried….hahaha…G is a difficult letter for her…)

Flaired Up

I was clearing out some of my applications in Facebook, so I decided to clean out some of the flairs I’ve been given throughout the months or past year, but I wanted to screen capture it to show I appreciated the thoughtfulness of those who have given me those specific flairs.

Again, thanks!

Baby’s healthy.  According to all the emails I get, Baby Z should be around 2 lbs. now.  I’m into my 3rd trimester and everything looks great, tests are fine, and I just have to prepare looking into the hospital I’ll be delivering.  The doctors are happy with the progression, no complications and even my controlled weight gain.  So far, I’ve gained 14 lbs. total with 3 more months to go.  Also, Baby Z moves around and kicks A LOT!  Like we say, ninja 2 in the dojo.

Am I waddling?  Not yet…only late at night when my body has had it with the change of my center of gravity.

So far, no scheduled ultrasounds because there’s no need for any…so you know what that means- this may turn out to be a surprise baby! :D   Good thing we have names picked out.  We’re just praying Baby Z is healthy.

PS- Ate Zem thinks Baby Z is gonna hatch.
