swirled rosette dress
“A ruffled rose unfurls below the elegant v-straps on this flowing frock from Burlapp. Complete with elastic at the back for a perfect fit.”
Ever since this dress came out, I’ve been salivating over it. Having not been in any of the stores nearby, I was about to order it online, but it’s a good thing I waited. My birthday came right on time, because my loving husband took the whole family on a day out just to buy my presents. And wouldn’t you know it, they had my dress there! The ladies in the store were so helpful, that they went three floors down just to find the dress in their stock. I tried the size 4, but had to size up because the bust wouldn’t fit me. I’ve gotten a tag bigger since Zienne was born, but even if I go down again, this size will just fit me more easily and relaxed.
I LOVE the dress. You know those dresses that you try on and once it’s on, you know you’re in love? Well, this was it. This is going to be my little black dress. The rosette in the front screams me…being a huge giganta-fan of flower appliques. Have you noticed it already in most of my fashion blogs?
The halter is a satin material and the skirt is a durable thicker material, so there are various textures involved. It zips at the side and has these adorable side pockets (always a plus in my book!). The shape of the dress hides practically every flaw, and women who are more “well endowed” don’t have to worry about being too revealing. The flower stays flat when worn and doesn’t make you look bigger at all. The skirt is heavier material than the satin, so it does retain the integrity of the A-line shape, making it a little flirty and girly.
This dress definitely screams classy. LOVE it. What’s funny is that 2 months ago, I bought a headband with a rosette EXACTLY like the one on the front of the dress, in black as well.

I am SO blessed. I am so BLESSED.
“Since I started for the Kingdom,
Since my life He controls,
Since I gave my heart to Jesus,
The longer I serve Him,
The sweeter He grows.
Chorus
The longer serve Him, the sweeter He grows,
The more that I love Him, more love He bestows;
Each day is like heaven, my heart overflows,
The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows.
Ev’ry need He is supplying,
Plenteous grace He bestows;
Ev’ry day my way gets brighter,
The longer I serve Him,
The sweeter He grows.”
I post this every year on my birthday. It is my heart’s song on this day of every year because it is so true to me. I cannot create new words that easily depict how I feel, so this hymn will always do.
Thank you to all my friends who have greeted me, my church who supports ministries I passion after, my families who yields such power through prayer, my innocent Zienne- who is learning in leaps and bounds to love me, my Emmanuelle- who has shown me truly what an unconditional loving heart can change a giant, and my devoted husband Perze- who shows me each and every day, what love through sacrifice means.
Lastly, and firstly, thank You to my beautiful and mighty God, who never gives up on me, each year. You’ve grown me from the start, even before anyone knew my odd name, you called me and held me so gently in your arms, knowing the road ahead in life. Thank you Lord, for your magnificent love. Help me to honor you through all things.
Psalm 139
update on the Emz
My Little Helper
Zem’s a big help to me these days. She gets me bibs, diapers, wipes for Zienne. She helps throw out dirty diapers, put things in the laundry hamper, cleans her toys, puts her papers/crafts away. She puts Zi’s milk in the fridge, etc. She’s truly my ‘big girl’ helper.
In Her Skin
She calls it the tickles, her itchiness, caused by her eczema. She scratches so hard and long sometimes that she actually breaks her skin, which eventually bleeds. We’re always applying lotion on her skin, moisturizer and insulating lotions. I even have a routine with her when we pick her old scabs, as so alleviate more itchiness the scabs may cause. We recently took her to an allergist who strongly recommended a dermatologist in NY, so after we get her blood test, we’re heading for The Big Apple.
In Jesus Name
Perze and I are always so impressed with her prayers. She has such elaborate prayers that remembers everyone in her family, down to her Tita Steph’s baby in her tummy. Prayers include things as “recycling, thanking God for cleaning the world, making mamam happy, making invitations for her party, letting Zienne want to play with her, and giving Tatay money so we can buy a big house with stairs.”
But sometimes, I’m just so blown away with the things that come into her heart to pray for, things I didn’t have to teach her.
Phonetics
She’s learning how to read slowly, still getting used to sounding out letters phonetically. Having mastered writing her letters, she can write out some words when I sound them out, like ‘lolo, lola, tatay, mama, emma, zi, hi, no, yes.’
iPhone
It’s crazy. Ever since almost three years old, Emma’s learned how to use the iPhone. Now that I bought a new white one, nothing’s changed. Actually, she’s learned how to use it even more, ‘screen capture, video, sound recorder, YouTube, games.’ There are things I’ve even learned from watching her. I even caught her saying, “Mamam, your battery needs to be charged.” And yes, folks, she took it and charged it for me on my laptop.

Hazy Tide Tank Tunic
The draping and shape is so fun and comfortable. it hides all flaws and still adds a great shape. The fabric just flows and moves when you move, so it feels free, while you don’t have to feel so self conscious. It’s more like a tunic rather than a top, so you can even wear it with leggings and flats for a more casual look, or you can dress it up with accessories for a night out. the dress is very versatile. I’m 5′2, so I can even get away with wearing it as a mini dress. LOVE this dress so much and basically wear it everywhere because it’s so casual and comfortable, but everyone thinks I’m dressed up, so it’s pretty versatile.

musings dress
“Maeve’s liquidy rayon drapes dreamily from a ruffled, buttoned bodice through an above-the-knee silhouette.”
I had to size down to an XS because the S draped too loosely on me, which is probably the idea this dress is supposed to give, but being a bit on the short side, with a bigger chest, the Small made me look frumpy. The XS fit perfectly, even without making it look extremely tight on me. The size still allotted room. Since it’s pullover styling, I thought I might not even be able to get into the XS, but the waist is elasticized, so I fit into it easily.
The material is very light and flowy, just perfect for spring and summer, and can pair beautifully with a different texture for fall. This dress is one of those dresses you can wear on its own, and a unique style that you can also accessorize to, i.e. a wide belt, boots, blazer…etc. (a belt for those who desire a leaner look). So this dress will offer various looks. Again, it’s so feminine because of its light material, it will move when you move.
And the pockets? Awesome. Best thing about this dress is that, if you frequently shop at Anthropologie, most their dresses cost above $100, but this one is much lower, and you’ll look just as striking with this dress on. This dress looks even better than most of the dresses in A. this season. And please- buy the RED. Don’t be shy, stand out. You’ll definitely get the looks w/ the RED.
