inseparable

They do this every night before bedtime, before they’re separated into different rooms. If Emma doesn’t go see Zi first, Zi will crawl off the bed and walk to emma’s room. Then Emma will get the most hugs and kisses before bedtime. It’s really something new, revealing, and amazing to see.

Em sleeps alone in her room now, so Zi really spends some time before bed hugging her sister and giving her kisses.  Then when Em goes to her room, Zi gets down from the bed and walks over to Em’s room, which basically means preparing them to actually sleep takes about an hour, because of all the visits, girlish snickering, and chasing about.

His faithfulness

Thanks for everyone who prayed for us and with us these couple of weeks.

There were bad news and even worse news, but by the grace of God and much faith and prayer, courage to believe that God brings us to places He wants us to be in life, we’ve managed to hold hands on our knees and go through a lot of waiting periods.

The bad news about the banks and our almost-to-be house finally came in today with the final approval.

And the worse news about Nanay’s health seems to be progressing positively; even the doctors are baffled.

Thank You Jesus
for Your faithfulness
and promises

And even if things
didn’t turn the way
we’d want

You are faithful
and promises
to get us through

…is beyond enough.

It’s nice to walk into a room and see people wear something you’ve made.  Three of my friends approached me a showed me that they were all wearing my creations. It’s a nice feeling, and they all looked very sweet on them :) …really stood out.

zi: getting up, walking, climbing, & getting down

March 26, 2010 · Written By Marchesa Ababa  · View Comments

Zienne is 10 months, almost 11.

Things have been quite busy, with all the whirlwind preparations for the upcoming move, my little ring selling…thing…and of course, the responsibilities at church, and a very clingy teething baby with her almost-five-year-old-sister, who is preparing to attend kindergarten this year.

With all the busyness, Zi has mastered getting up from sitting position to standing and then walking.  She has this cute grunting sound, like a muffled war cry of determination.  And once she’s up, she’ll smile, knowing that she’s accomplished something ‘big-girl-ish’. She’s on her way to becoming like everyone else she sees around her, mobile on two feet.

She can take more than 15 steps at a time then fall down on her bum, or squat down to reach for something, then get back up again. She is also VERY good with climbing things.  She uses everything as a stool to attain a new height, and can even climb to the top of the sofa.

With getting down, she realizes this is a bit tricky, but she has also figured out a way how to get one step down.  She’ll near the edge, then swing one leg to dangle down, then turn herself over to belly position and then swing the other leg down until her toes touch the ground. BRAVO! I love how her little mind thinks.

By Easter, she’ll be able to join her sister and cousins in running around the backyard hunting for eggs in the grass.

goodnight, sweetheart…

So proud of you emmanuelle grace.

Tonight was the third night you slept in your room alone after Zienne was born. I know how hard it must have been for you, with all the initial attempts and your concerns (monsters, itchiness, loneliness, fears).  But after your Tatay read you a story, prayed with you, and after I came and tucked you in, laughed and talked with you, you mustered up enough strength and faith that we’re so close to you still.

It must be very hard, at four years old, after days and days of being conditioned to having such the warmest comfort of being with those you love most before going to sleep, then having to sleep alone with a blanket of thoughts.  But you did it tonight.  Thank you for being so brave. It’s times like these that I am so proud of you.  And although I know it’s a step towards your independence, I already miss you.

I love you monkey.  I wish I could keep you forever.

Zi on Walking

Sunday, Zi mastered getting to standing position by herself, without props. She’s done this before a month ago but only today did she accomplish the skill repeatedly. This has helped increase her drive to walk & now predominantly walks instead of crawls.
