Zi’s 11 month (additions)
More things to add to Zi’s 11 months.
- When we say “praise the Lord” she’ll raise her hand to the sky.
- She learned how to “mano po” (bless). When her dad comes home, she blesses him by putting his hand to her forehead.
prayer request
*sigh*
My dad’s leaving for the Phils. in a few hours. Weird when one by one, the family leaves. I know it’s only for a month or so, but with my brother gone too, it’s weird visiting sj. I hope my mom will be ok. My dad hates having to leave her; they’re hardly apart.
If you can, just pray for safe keeping for him. thanks.
Cutout shoelaced bootie $198 vs. cutout shoelaced bootie $60
It’s been a while since a new fashion blog right?
Well, this one I couldn’t quite let go of…it was too crazy to pass. Well, I’m one to spot sales, or even “knock offs” similar to very expensive clothing, but way cheaper. Generally, if I really love something, I’ll try to buy the originals on sale, or on ebay, but if I can do without, if it costs over $150, I’ll try to find something along the lines of…
Well, here’s an example:
I love these pair of booties but can never really get myself to buy it, being worth $198 at my favorite store. Even on sale, those suckers (on left) will probably run between $99-$135. But the one on the right is only $60, which I found on a competing online store.
They’re cut exactly the same, and both made out of leather. With the slight difference in color contrast, there’s the obvious difference in price.
These are also a great pair of booties, versatile for spring, all through summer, and making its appearance even in fall. Adding a bit of height, there’s an organic twist on the gladiator look, fresh with lacing and pleating, giving it a more feminine look. LOVE IT!
Definitely one for the summer. Marchesa approved. And even better? A worthy frienemy to the expensive model.
zi at 11 months
An update on Zienne of 11 months. She’s turning 1 year old soon and I’m not ready yet. It’s gone too fast, her infancy. She can understand so many things already, language, commands, requests, games, etc.
On her 11th month, her love for singing is extremely evident. It’s in her every day things she loves do. She sings with her Ate, to the radio, the iPhone, TV, the church choir, praise and worship, and yes, even with the vacuum cleaner! Also, when she sees a book or pamphlet, she’ll open it and start singing, as if it was choir material. She’s a regular in the church choir practices. She’ll sing along, VERY loudly with everyone else. She’s quite the distraction.
This month, she’s had a boom in showing affection. Whenever her younger cousin, Sienna, is over, she’ll make her way towards her, pat her head, lean over and kiss her- over and over and over and over again (until Sienna’s had enough). Zi also is in love with Emma, who she follows everywhere. At night, their bedtime routine is a long hugging and laughing session, with Zi always initiating the hug-fest. If you ask Zi for a hug, she’ll usually comply (if she’s familiar with you). She understands the words kiss and hug, love. If she sees a picture of someone she’s fond of, she’ll even lean towards the image for a quick hug.
She’s definitely mastered walking, and now tries very hard to jump, esp. since she sees Emma doing it. She also knows how to get down from our bed, couch, anything tall. She’ll push her legs over first, letting her legs dangle until her toes touch the ground.
She points to things now, often accompanied with sounds. She also puts the phone to her ears and says, “HA, Tat.” She probably learned this from me, seeing me call her dad every day.
As far as language, she says, “Te, A-teh, Tat, mamam, ha” and my family has observed that her garrulous nature shows her ease in picking up sounds. Her lolo tries to get her to say Pa-pa and she ends up saying pa-pa. Just the other day, I tried to teach her how to say Zzzzz-iii and she started saying “zzzzzzzz-ah, zzzzz-ah.” She amazes me how well she responds.
She’s already graduated to the bigger car seat, and prefers it because she can see more things, esp. her sister who’s sitting next to her.
35 and still handsome
Mahal, thank you for who you are, and for continuing to steer our family in the direction of faith and following God’s leading. I am proud of you in so many ways, most of all with your integrity and purpose to live out your life with our family verse. From the moment we first met, you’ve been a blessing to me and each… birthday reminds me how your life greatly seasons mine & everyone you know. Zem, Noe, and I love you immensely.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MY LOVE.
zi at 10 months: recap
So before Zi turns 11 months, I just wanted to update on her 10 month milestones.
She eats rice and solid veggies now, ground up, still drinks from the bottle and nurses. At night, I nurse her up until morning. She wakes up a little here and there, maybe 2-3 times but lately, she’s been fussy and wakes more frequently because she’s teething. She’s growing in her 4 top teeth at the same time, so she’s clingy, cranky, but still adorable- adorably exhausting. To think she still has so much more teeth to go!
She’s so much faster with walking and now only walks instead of crawls. She’s such a pro at getting herself to standing position without any props, or grunting for that matter. She also knows how to get down a step or from a higher to lower height. She’s mastered that before learning how to get all the way to the top of the stairs. It’s become a challenge leaving her alone next to stairs because she’ll take the physical challenge.
She also knows how to point to something she wants to eat or play with. She can point to her nose and locate it when you ask her. She also pretends to sing when she opens up a book. I think this is due to all the choir rehearsals she’s attended. She probably thinks every book is a choir book, so she starts to sing along. No lie. When Em was Zi’s age, she used to do the same thing except she’d pretend to read. She’d say, “te te te te” while Zi sings “ahhhhhh ahhhhh.” Cute…hahahah…my girls.
Because of her crankiness, she’s limited her circle of trusted people to just family. Sometimes, she even gets extremely particular, and she’ll prefer me over anyone. She’s in that separation anxiety phase, so she’ll hardly entertain being carried by other people now.
She can understand a lot of what I say now. She’ll refrain from continuing with an action if I say ‘No’, or her bottom lip will cutely quiver, a warning sign of a following wail. She also answers to her name, AND she understands the word “give.” If you say, “give to Ate,” she’ll give to Emma, and so forth. She also understands the word kiss, hug, and love. At these words, she’ll comply to showing affection; it’s amazing.
Happy Easter
From our family, happy and joyful Easter!! May the meaning of Easter seep deeply and water a fruitful lifestyle for your purpose. We serve a risen savior whose power saves all, conquers sin and death, and whose grace abounds even the most wretched.
Ps. Happy first eater Zi. It’s your 3rd cantata, and it’s evident with your growing interest in music, singing, and choral music.
