Livingstones Furniture

one day, when i’m a millionaire, i plan to have a room like this:

untitled

if i’m lucky, knowing how these furniture designers like to pricey up their products, i’ll probably only get to own one stone pillow.  Livingstones created soft pillows for furniture/decor that resembles boulders and stones.  They’re  beautiful aren’t they?  But with beauty are some problems:

1. you can’t just buy one you know. wouldn’t that look silly?  The problem with stones is that there are usually more than one or two in the scene- like giddy teenager girls.  this means you’re not just shelling out $600 for a boulder; you’re spending $200 for 3 rocks each and $90 for 7 stones each.  i’m no math major but i believe that’s $1840?  And that’s for one person seating…

2. to create an indoor living space to resemble the outside, that room better be very simple- so no buying of Ikea sectional couches and side tables.  the most you can do is scatter a few books on the floor to make it look like a zen space for lounging.

but this picture is beautiful isn’t it?  the black lacquered floor looks like water on a dark night w/ floating candles, and the dark wooden floor looks like the outside of a lake house.  and the plasma tv looks like the gentle moon on HD…

Cherry Blossom Branch Lights

how fitting that I’d love this…can you tell i love cherry blossoms (hence the twelvesixteen cherry blossom theme)?  I would totally love to receive five branches of these cherry blossoms lights as a present.  It comes in white or pink, but since i love pink, i’d prefer them.  Plus, white would look too much like christmas lights.  The pink ones look more like flowers from a distance, and would cast more color in a dim room.

one branch holds 35 decorative flower lights and functions like a light, powered by an outlet.

Porn for Women (I’m not trying to be perverted)…

January 27th, 2008 | Marchesa Ababa | No Comments

don’t let the title trick you, there’s absolutely NO PORN or NUDITY in this book; read the description below.  i love the idea of this book. once i read what it was about, i laughed out loud and showed perze, who smirkingly shot me a look of friendly contempt.  although i don’t think i’d really buy the book, it’s one of those things you could give to friends for some friendly inside jokes and future conversations.

I Love It When You Talk Clean To Me
PORN FOR WOMEN
There he was as he vacuumed the carpet…and she hadn’t even asked him to.
Women everywhere will laugh out loud and completely relate to this sexy and smart Porn For Women book. Compiled by the clever ladies at Cambridge Women’s Pornography Cooperative, this book is not only hilarious, but it challenges traditional ideas of pornography and what is sexy.
With photos of strapping young men doing housework strewn across the pages and accompanied by quotes such as "Have another piece of cake. I don’t like you looking so thin" or "Want to snuggle?" this book is a fun gift for women everywhere - and will give the menfolk a little insight into what women really want.
This book contains no nudity.

French Porcelain Espresso Cup Set

16337_medwant to celebrate your relationship, while symbolizing it as a medicine pill and calming espresso containers?  i thought this was pretty cool to get as a couple…you store it and take it out as a pill (together), then separate it as you share that warm caffeine beverage.  it’s adorable, and probably looks great in your cabinets (considering you buy at least five…

library wall

i always plan for our future home. and i’ve always told perze that one day i’d really want a library.  i never really imagined how it would look like, but once i stumbled upon this picture, i just felt inspired and attracted to its art.  it really is art as much as it is intellect.

the reason the designer chose to display the books as such was because he liked to see the covers of the books.  and it’s true; sometimes the way to spot the book is by its cover rather than by its spine. i admit it’s a bit impractical esp. if one has a lot of books, but you can always use just one wall as art. you can categorize the books by cover color. that’s a whole other art project.

these are from The Unemployed Philosopher’s Guild, an online store that i can appreciate.  these dolls are probably my favorite items because i would want all those dolls at the side to become part of my collection, on a shelf, next to books.

they’re also a great learning tool for the kids since they’re all famous and influential in their respective arenas. imagine, while other kids are neglecting their mundane teddy bear to sleep, emma can be hugging jane austen while recounting some of her stories.

this is even much better than the huggable stds at GiantMicrobes.
